Solid academic background in rock mechanics, continuum mechanics, and reservoir/civil geotechnics.

As a leading consulting firm in geoscience and engineering challenges, supported by the research and innovation of the IFPEN Group, Beicip-Franlab continues to strengthen its expertise in advanced geomechanical modelling.
In this context, Beicip-Franlab offers an internship dedicated to exploring innovative methodologies for 3D reservoir geomechanical simulation using finite element code ASTER.
The internship will focus on the following aspects:
Developm ent and validation of 3D geomechanical reservoir models integrating geological and petrophysical data.
Investigati on of fault activation mechanisms, induced seismicity risk, and prediction of seismic magnitude.
Evalua tion of stress field evolution and reservoir deformation under production and injection scenarios.
Evalua tion of data transmission between Petrel/Puma flow and Code Aster
Main tasks undertaken during the internship
Learning and applying the finite element code (Aster) for geomechanical simulations
Takin g ownership of existing geomechanical models of different formats in Petrel and Aster Code
Perform stress initialization using 3D Finite Element Modelling
Investi gation of fault activation mechanisms, induced seismicity risk, and prediction of seismic magnitude using appropriate modelling approaches.
Analy sis of stress evolution under different production or injection scenarios.
Docume ntation and communication of results through technical reports, slides, and presentations.

Static modeling software (Petrel), dynamic modeling softwares (PumaFlow), 3D Finite Element Software (CODE ASTER) and Python,
